Renault Zoe Van is Britain’s first fully-electric car-derived van

The Renault Zoe Van is Britain’s first fully-electric car-derived van (CDV) and is on sale now with a VAT-free price starting from under £20,000.

This is helped by the generous £6,120 Plug-in Van Grant Renault’s new zero-emissions Zoe Van is eligible for.

Part of Renault’s Pro+ LCV commercial range, the new Zoe Van has a WLTP range of up to 245 miles and packs in a 52kWh battery pack.

It uses a punchy 80kW (107hp) electric motor.

Compactness is the Zoe Van’s forte. It measures less than 4.1 metres long and under 1.8 metres wide.

Despite this, it still has an overall load volume of 1 cubic metre, with the load bay stretching 1.2 metres long and 1.1 metres wide. Maximum payload is up to 387kg.

Of course, it doesn’t have rear seats, but the rear doors do still open: the windows are disabled, though, and covered in an opaque film so people can’t see inside.

The load space is completely flat and the protective rubber flooring has four anchorage points.

Trims and specs

The Renault Zoe Van is offered in two trims, Business and Business+.

All Zoe Van get a 7.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus manual air con, LED headlights, front fog lights, USB socket and Renault hands-free Keycard.

Business+ adds sat nav, wireless smartphone charging, rear parking sensors and camera, climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, a suite of active safety tech and 100 percent recycled seat upholstery.

A 50kW DC rapid charging (RC) option is offered on both, for an extra £875.

This gives a zero to 80 percent charge in 70 minutes, and even a 30-minute charge will deliver a 90-mile range.

The standard type 2 charging cable will give a 100 percent charge in three hours via a 22kW public charger.

A 7kW wallbox gives a full charge in 9 hours 25 minutes.

Impressively, the Renault Zoe Van still benefits from the five-year, 100,000-mile warranty all Renault cars feature.

Servicing intervals are every 12 months or 18,000 miles.
